This year we took our lead from the work done by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. We themed our week of events 'All Different All Equal'.
We had a week-long raffle and cake sale to raise funds for The Diana Award Charity for the work they do in training anti-bullying ambassadors. We were supported by local businesses Shakes & Shooters who donated £10 vouchers and The Exchange who gave a Tea for Two voucher. We raised an excellent £138.
The students took part in a ‘Design an Anti-Bullying Poster’ Competition. The overall winner will be the Academy’s anti-bullying poster for the year. Each year group will also have a winner and runner-up.
Thinking about the theme of 'All Different All Equal' we encouraged students and staff to fill in a Unique Card. They could be anonymous if they wanted and we encouraged people to say what makes them different and what makes them proud. Some of the things people put were:
“I’m a young carer”
“I can speak Croatian”
“I’m a volunteer youth worker”
“I’m a female boxer”
“I’ve run 18 marathons”
“I have traveller heritage”
“I care for my disabled niece”
Here at Neale-Wade Academy we celebrate people’s differences.
