The OCR National in Marketing and Enterprise course provides the students with the underpinning knowledge that is required in order to progress into post 16 to study either BTEC Business Level 3 or A level Business. This is most apparent in the BTEC Business course which focuses on the core units of business finance, marketing and business organisation. This is then built on further as recruitment and selection is introduced.
Our curriculum in business studies will give students the knowledge and skills that they need to progress into either higher education, or a wide range of careers in the business sector, including self-employment.
Courses: Level 1/2 OCR Cambridge National Marketing and Enterprise, Level 3 BTEC National in Business and A level Business Studies.
Our core curriculum at KS3 develops students’ digital skills so they can competently use Microsoft software, use the internet safely and send and receive emails. This will support study across all other areas of the curriculum where IT is used at Key Stage 4. Students can opt to further improve their IT skills through the OCR Cambridge National in Creative imedia. This course is the best fit to prepare the students for KS5 where we offer the Cambridge Technical Diploma in IT. The particular areas of cross over relate to students already having a high level of competency in pre-production skills, an area that runs through all of the practical units that the students undertake as well as specific units which are based around this concept). There is also cross over in the practical skills required to complete the course specifically in website prototyping.
