Our curriculum aim is to create opportunities to establish lifelong participation in sport as well as to support the adoption of healthy lifestyles. Furthermore, students will develop as confident and competent leaders who are able to communicate effectively with their peers.
The curriculum is designed to build on the fundamental movement and practical skills the students learn at primary school and during key stage 3, students will focus on the practical skills of each sport, linked with the rules to play small-sided games. In year 9 and throughout key stage 4 students have the chance to select from the following pathways: Elite Athlete, Lifelong participant, Leadership & Fitness. Each term the sports/activities being offered will vary, giving the students the opportunity to change pathways and explore different avenues.
Courses: Level 1/2 BTEC Award in Sport, Level 1/2 BTEC Award in Performing Arts (Dance) and Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport
