Drama & Performing Arts

Our aim is that students will gain a detailed knowledge of different styles of theatre, create their own practical work that displays varied drama skills (both on and off the stage) and develop many of the skills that they will need throughout their life.  These drama skills include role play, design, thought-tracking, character creation and development, structuring and developing scripts, improvisation, vocal and movement work.  The life skills that they will learn and develop in drama are team work, empathy, confidence, creativity, independence and memory work.

We teach the knowledge of different styles of drama, from different practitioners to important historical genres. These are also key skills that are essential for work in the performing arts sector.
